About the MCS
The Brandon University Department of Chemistry and Brandon University Undergraduate Chemistry Club are pleased to host the 2019 Manitoba Chemistry Symposium (MCS, May 3-4, 2019) at Brandon University. The Symposium will bring together scientists and highlight research and innovation. The meeting will bring together the national and regional members to share their most recent advances and provide opportunities for networking and strengthen collaboration. MCS rotates annually amongst the University of Winnipeg, Brandon University, and the University of Manitoba.
The MCS 2019 conference takes place at Brandon University under the theme “Bench, Biosphere & Beyond”. This theme represents the importance of chemical research and the role chemical research has in shaping our society and environment. As such, presenters are welcome in any area of chemistry, including (but not limited to) organic, analytical, physical, inorganic, biochemistry, chemical biology, environmental chemistry, life sciences/health, chemical education, agriculture and pharmaceutical industry. In addition to the oral presentations on Friday and Saturday, we will host poster presentations on Friday evening followed by a social event. There will be undergraduate and graduate student competitions and prizes for both oral and poster presentations. Mingling will be encouraged during the poster session/reception on Friday evening.
The organizing committee gratefully acknowledges the financial support of our previous sponsors (Brandon University, University of Winnipeg, University of Manitoba, Bruker Daltonics). With continued support, we hope to continue the MCS as ‘THE’ regional Chemistry meeting celebrating science, nurture collaboration and friendship. Members of the community are welcome and encouraged to register. The MCS organizing committee has secured conference rates at local hotels and housing at Brandon University Dorms (Please see the Accommodations tab).
Please see the Home page for up to date information on the symposium, registration and accommodation.
